while the shot on it's own is not entirely new in my gallery (see [link] for comparison) i really loved the contrasting dark and light tones and the lines of the wooden bench the leaf lay on.

i chose a very thin depth of field because of the surrounding lighting conditions, which means that the leaf is not in focus completely - the picture rather focuses on the rough edge of the leaf.

all post processing was done using adobe lightroom 1.1
what was done:
o) exposure correction
o) yellow saturation boost
o) red luminance boost
o) all other colors saturation reduced
o) adjusted contrast

i guess you are referring to the red colored shadows right below the leaf - i didn't think that they were to distracting, but thanks for pointing it out.

in this case i only used saturation and contrast level adjustments, there was no actual cutting done.

actually I like the result with desaturation without the cutting-method - at least on the wood it works out fine... but the red under the leaf really disturbs me. But If it is fine with you, I'll have to accept that :D
